The Sub-Zero Pro 3 Goalie Pads feature more of a curve shape than previous models for a flatter design throughout the pad. The pad has a medium flex profile just below the knee and a harder flex profile above the knee. The 90° boot break has a single dart flex profile which allows the goalie to get much more flex at the ankle area for lateral movements, rebound control and a better seal to the ice.
The surface of the pad is lace-less and the inside edges have a thinner profile with the stitch lines optimally places to enhance sliding. The wider knee stack has been inset slightly to connect better with the goalies knee; this allows the goalie to drive the pad to the ice quicker resulting in a better pad seal. All Brian’s goalie pads include their innovative smart strap on the skate and ankle wrap as well.
The Brian’s Smart Strapping system is used instead of a traditional system with leather straps for an easier pad strapping process and for overall weight reduction. The wide leg channel is fully lined with Hex-Air to provide better air flow and comfort for the goalie. Primo synthetic material has been added to many high-wear areas on the pad for increased performance and durability.
